Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a secular meditation practice that improves people’s lives and transforms corporate culture. Through my work introducing and teaching mindfulness to corporations and law schools, I have honed an approachable explanation of this esoteric practice. My aim is to equip participants with simple techniques that promote the integration of Mindful practices in all areas of life.
The introductory concepts for Mindfulness can be taught over the course of an hour. To promote real personal and systemic change, I offer four to eight week series where the participants meet once a week for an hour of guided meditation, instruction, and discussion.
Qi Gong
Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese energy movement practice. Perhaps you’ve heard of Prana, Chi, Ki, or the Celtic Christian concept of the Holy Spirit. Qi Gong is the art of experiencing the subtle energy that connects all living beings. Often times people are able to tap into this feeling on their first attempt with guidance.
For those looking to deepen their contemplative practice or get a sense for the ways in which we are all connected, I strongly recommend Qi Gong.
Movement
Movement combines dance, live music, and yoga into one energetic, joyous experience. The creators of Movement stumbled upon the concept when DJs Dylan James (Eluxir) and Luke Venable (Spukey), and yoga instructor Austin Charles decided to combine their passions for live performance and yoga practice . What started as an experience to share with friends went public when Sacred Thread Yoga and Sweet Water Brewery requested a Movement class for their August 2016 Yoga On Tap.
Movement exists to bring people together. The familiarity of vinyasa yoga practice coupled with sporadic dance sessions allow participants to grow their yoga practice while stepping outside their comfort zone. For more information on how to schedule a movement class Connect with us over email.
Yoga
Yoga is at the center of my contemplative practices. Over the past six years I’ve had the privilege of teaching yoga to groups as small as 1 and as large 100-plus. I take the teaching practice every where I go and thus have been lucky to teach in Oxford, Brussels, Tokyo, Atlanta, and Myrtle Beach to name a few.
My classes are rooted in tradition, with a focus on personal growth and exploration. They are appropriate for all experience levels. Currently, I teach by request for conferences, events, and private lessons.
Self Defense
I began my six years of training martial arts study after someone near to me was assaulted. Throughout my training, my goal was always to teach others how to defend themselves.
My self defense seminars cover the crucial basics: vulnerable pressure points, breaking free from holds, and avoiding conflict through proactive measures. These introductory skills can be covered in a one to two hour seminar.
